Rainy season is officially here!

On an average day, OC San treats about 185 million gallons of wastewater from 2.6 million people. Heavy rain can more than triple that amount as rainwater seeps into the sewer system, putting extra pressure on pipes and reclamation plants.

You can help by holding off on water-heavy chores like laundry or dishwashing until after the storm has passed or later in the evening. Even small actions—like turning off the tap while brushing your teeth or taking shorter showers—make a big difference.
