Upcoming Work:

Work will be starting soon along Airway Avenue in the City of Costa Mesa.  The first of two regional sewer pipelines, or force mains, will be rehabilitated.  The work will start with the excavation of pits in the roadway to access the tops of the existing sewer pipeline.  The pits are several hundreds of feet apart.  Future updates will be provided as schedules are confirmed and as the work progresses and continues along Airway Avenue towards Airport Loop Drive to the Main Street Pump Station.

  • Where: Airway Avenue between Baker Street and McCormick Avenue
  • When: November 2023 – early 2024
  • Work Hours:  7 a.m. – 7p.m., Monday – Friday*
  • Impacts:
    • Travel lanes will be reconfigured restricting street parking.
    • A lane of travel in each direction will remain.
    • Increased noise due to construction activity.

*All dates and times are subject to change due to operational factors or inclement weather.

 

2023.11 Baker to McCormick

Project Description:

 

This future project will rehabilitate two parallel regional sewer pipelines, along a 1-mile stretch on Airway Avenue and Airport Loop Drive in the City of Costa Mesa, near the John Wayne Airport. The rehabilitation of the two pipelines must occur one at a time and will take place in separate phases.

Project elements also include improvements at the Main Street Pump Station.  See map below (blue line).
