Sewer construction work continues in the Cities of Seal Beach and Los Alamitos. Manhole repair work is necessary to increase the life of the regional sewer system. 

NEW ACTIVITY

Los Alamitos – Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Blvd. – NIGHTWORK
Manhole repair work will be taking place along Katella Ave. from Oak Street to Los Alamitos Blvd. and southbound on Los Alamitos Blvd to Hedwig Rd.

• When: Week of September 18 – October 2022
• Where: Eastbound Katella Ave. at Oak St. moving to southbound Los Alamitos Blvd. to Hedwig Rd.
• Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.
• Impacts: Lane closures and the possibility of additional noise. All loud construction activity will be performed prior to midnight.

ONGOING ACTIVITY

City of Seal Beach
Manhole repair work on Old Ranch Parkway and the adjacent parking lots. To properly access the manholes some landscaping will need to be removed, additional work will be performed at a later date.

• When: Week of September 12 – October 2022
• Where: Old Ranch Parkway in Seal Beach
• Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Flagman will be on hand to direct traffic as needed.

 City of Los Alamitos
Manhole repair work is ongoing on southbound Los Alamitos Blvd. between Hedwig Road and Bradbury Road.

• When: Ongoing – October 2022
• Where: Southbound Los Alamitos Blvd. between Katella Ave. and Bradbury Rd.
• Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• Impacts for Rossmoor Way and Orangewood Ave.:
  • Bus stops may be impacted. Please visit www.octa.net for details.
  • Cross walks may be closed intermittently.
  • Left turns out of Rossmoor onto northbound Los Alamitos Blvd. may be restricted.

Los Alamitos Blvd./Seal Beach Blvd. – NIGHTWORK 
Pipeline cleaning and grouting to remove debris from the sewer pipe is ongoing.

• Where: Southbound Los Alamitos Blvd. between Katella Ave. and Towne Center Dr.
• Work Hours: Sunday – Thursday, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.

 Project Description

OC San is rehabilitating two parallel sewers on north and southbound Seal Beach Blvd./ Los Alamitos Blvd., and along Katella Avenue, Oak Street, and Lexington Drive in the cities of Seal Beach and Los Alamitos. The work consists of removing calcium buildup at various pipe joints and injecting chemical grout to strengthen the pipe. Rehabilitation and/or replacement of over 70 manholes will also take place.
