OC San’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) is a 20-year plan to maintain and replace the infrastructure required to provide essential wastewater service to 2.6 million residents of Orange County. Over $5.8 billion of capital funds is projected over the next 20 years. Last fiscal year, over 20 projects were advertised for construction with contracts valued at over $475 million. These projects not only support OC San’s mission to protect public health and the environment, they also support the local economy.
As the program focuses on aging infrastructure and maximizing resource recovery, the projected spending is expected to increase from $160 million for this past year to $225 million this coming year; and over $250 million for at least the next ten years.
Take a look at the CIP Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2020-21 that was just released to learn all about OC San’s efforts to improve our infrastructure and help the local economy.
