Construction on Orange Avenue in Cypress is underway. Crews are currently working on replacing a segment of sewer pipe and will soon begin the manhole replacement work. To complete this second phase, it will be necessary to close Juanita Street at Orange Avenue.

This work is essential to enhance the condition of the regional sewer infrastructure.

City of Cypress

Upcoming Work:

Northbound Juanita Street onto Orange Avenue will be restricted. Only eastbound travelers on Orange Avenue will be able to make a right onto Juanita Street. All other access to and from Juanita Street will be restricted.

• Where: Juanita St. at Orange Ave.
• When: Week of November 7 – December 2022* – permanent closure –
• Detour: To reach Orange Avenue travel south on Juanita Avenue to Ball Road to either Valley View Street or Holder Street.

Ongoing work:

Pipeline and manhole repair work will be performed on Orange Ave. between Valley View St. and Juanita St. To ensure the safety of the community and our crew this phase of work does require permanent placement of traffic control along the work area. This means the use of concrete barriers to separate the work zone from the travel lanes.

• Where: Orange Ave. between Valley View St. to Juanita St. in the City of Cypress
• When: October 24 – mid-December 2022*
• Work Hours: Weekdays, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Impacts: Lane reductions, parking restrictions, turn restrictions. Please use caution when traveling in this area.

City of Anaheim – THIS WORK HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL LATER DATE

• Where: Orange Ave. between Knott Ave. and Danbrook Dr. in the City of Anaheim

*Dates and times are subject to change due to operational factors or inclement weather.

What to Expect:

• Lane closures and turn restrictions which may cause traffic delays
• Crosswalk closures
• Parking restrictions
• Increased noise and dust

As this work is being completed, additional construction activity will continue along Orange Avenue and Western Avenue.

Project Description

Manholes and sections of sewer pipeline on Western Avenue and Orange Avenue in the Cities of Buena Park, Anaheim, and Cypress will be rehabilitated to extend their service life. OC San will clean and inject chemical grout into the pipelines and rehabilitate or replace manholes along the highlighted section of the entire project area map. Small segments of pipe will also be replaced.
