See updated information below shown in RED. Week of July 8
Ball Road to Vermont Avenue
Sewer installation is in full effect in this area. Crews are making great progress and working hard to get through this area as quickly as possible.
Work at the Wagner Avenue intersection began this week so it can be completed in the summer months when school is not in session. As early as June 24 the intersection will be closed for a few weeks which will results in NO LEFT-HAND TURNS in any direction. Through traffic on State College will be permitted. Please see notice for further details.
Cross walks will remain open at all times. Bus stops have been relocated to Cortney Way and Vermont Avenue. To complete the work in the summer months Saturday work is necessary. Construction will occur Monday – Saturday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Wagner Avenue intersection work is wrapping up and paving to occur by early week of July 8.
Ball Rd. Intersection – Nightwork
A City water line is also being installed at the Ball intersection. This work is being done at night to minimize impact to traffic and the local businesses. Temporary turn restrictions and lane reductions will be in effect, but the intersection will remain open. Work hours are 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. The water line work is expected to be completed by mid-July.
Scheduled nightwork on Tuesday, July 9 will take place 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. and will have significant traffic impacts. Lanes will be reduced to one lane only and no left or u-turns allowed at the intersection. This water tie-in work will require water outages and the City of Anaheim Water Department will distribute notices to affected customers.
Crews will continue to work in the intersection at night for the next several weeks to construct a new sewer manhole located in the intersection.
Cerritos to Ball Rd.
The sewer has been successfully installed in this area which means we are ready to pave and remove the k-rail from the street. All lanes will be completely opened by Tuesday, June 25. Night work is still required at the Cerritos and State College intersection to complete manhole installation, there will be some k-rail set up on Cerritos but there will be no impact to turns onto State College. Work hours are Monday – Friday, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.
Last week the project team presented at the Anaheim District 4 and 5 neighborhood meetings, check out the information shared here. For a snapshot of the work area and proposed scheduled take a look at the project map.
We understand construction can be an inconvenience, we apologize in advance and appreciate your patience as we work to improve our infrastructure.
*Dates are subject to change due to operational factors or inclement weather.
**Once the sewer is fully installed, additional work will be required throughout the sewer alignment to put the sewer in service. Notifications will be made about that work once a schedule is available.

Project Description:
The project is replacing four miles of sewer along State College Boulevard from the SR-91 to Orangewood Avenue in the City of Anaheim. Construction began in summer 2018 and is scheduled to be completed in late 2020. Once the project is complete, eight million gallons of wastewater will be diverted to OCSD’s Plant No. 1 in Fountain Valley for treatment before being send to the Groundwater Replenishment System. This is Phase B of a two-phase project; Phase A was completed in 2017 and took place from Yorba Linda Blvd. to SR-91 in the City of Fullerton.
