his project will rehabilitate the existing Newport Force Main located on Coast Highway between Dover Drive and the OCSD Bitter Point Pump Station, near Prospect Street located approximately 1/4 mile west of Superior Avenue. The Newport Force Main is made of two sewer lines, both of which will be rehabilitated as part of this construction project.Â
Construction Alert – Drivers should expect temporary delays Friday due to a short-term road closure at north bound PCH (towards Huntington Beach) to the south bound Newport Blvd. ramp.  The closure will take place for approximately two hours on the morning of Friday, August 8 between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. The ramp closure is necessary for heavy equipment deliveries. Detour via Old Newport Blvd. or Balboa Blvd.  Major construction for the project will begin after Labor Day weekend.
Throughout the project, there will be lane restrictions and detours which can cause traffic delays. We encourage everyone to drive safely and obey the traffic control directions to ensure the safety of the public and our crews. Construction notifications will be made available with specific work location, schedule, and impacts as the dates approach.
