LOCATION: Airway Ave. between Baker St. and Airport Loop Dr., Costa Mesa

  • What:
    • Pressure testing of a segment of newly installed sewer pipeline. This will require filling the pipeline with water for a continuous period, approximately 3 days.
    • Asphalt paving at the intersection of Airway Ave. and Baker St. Some work may be done during the nighttime hours.
  • When: November 15 - December 6
  • Work Hours:
    • Daywork hours between 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
    • Nightwork hours between 8 p.m. - 6 a.m.
  • What to Expect:
    • Traffic control around the work areas
    • Increase in activity and noise levels

LOCATION: Main Street Pump Station, 1499 Main St., Irvine

  • What:  Rehabilitating pipelines, pumps, and valves
  • When:  Current – Spring 2025
  • Work Hours:  Day-time work, 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • What to Expect:
    • Occasional reduced travel lanes on westbound Main St.
    • Increase in activity and noise levels

Project Description

This project will rehabilitate two parallel regional sewer pipelines, along a 1-mile stretch on Airway Avenue and Airport Loop Drive in the City of Costa Mesa, near the John Wayne Airport. The rehabilitation of the two pipelines must occur one at a time and will take place in separate phases.

Project elements also include improvements at the Main Street Pump Station.  See map below (blue line).
