Outfall Low Flow Pump Station and SCADA System and Network Upgrades

July 2024. Low Flow Pump Station and Plant Water Pump Station.

July 2024 – Construction progresses on the new low flow pump station and plant water pump station.

Project Description:
This project has two components – the first will rehabilitate the mechanical, electrical, and civil systems at the Ocean Outfall Booster Station (OOBS) at Plant No. 2 which is the primary pumping station for the discharge of secondary effluent to the ocean outfall system. It includes replacement of portions of the OOBS pumping systems by constructing a new low flow pump station to more efficiently pump dry weather flow. A new plant water pump station will also be constructed to accommodate the Groundwater Replenishment System Final Expansion, learn more about it here.

The second component consists of providing a Process Data Network at Plant No. 2 which is independent and isolated from the Office Data and Security systems. These improvements will provide greater security, increase Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system capacity, and provide the network needed for the Load Management and Load Shedding System. Load Management and Load Shedding items will be provided under this project.

Project Status

Construction of the above-ground portion of the new Outfall Low Flow Pump Station and Plant Water Pump Station are ongoing.
